| Pakefield is situated on what is referred to locally as the sunrise coast. It is just down the road from nearby Lowestoft, Britain’s most easterly town, and winner of Britain’s Best Beach award on more than one occasion. With its two piers, wonderful sandy beaches and quaint old beach huts, as well as a good, modern shopping centre, this old fishing port still has a wonderful fish market and annually holds a ''Fish Fair'', where you can do everything from buy oysters to listen to sea shanties, to go aboard a Royal Navy Battleship.
